MacBook Air 15 vs MacBook Air 13

MacBook Air 15 vs MacBook Air 13

The MacBook Air 15 sports the same Apple M2 chip as the MacBook Air 13, and the two laptop variants share quite a few similarities among them like connectivity and color options. Having said that, there are also quite a few differences between the two thinnest Apple laptops.

Here are five major and minor differences between MacBook Air 15 vs MacBook Air 13:

1) Screen size

The MacBook Air 15 packs in a 15.3-inch display compared to the MacBook Air 13’s smaller 13.6-inch screen. Yes, this allows the MacBook Air 15 to have a higher resolution display as well, even though the quality of the screen and its overall brightness is similar to the MacBook Air 13.

2) Weight

While the MacBook Air 13 weighs just 1.24 kg, the MacBook Air is slightly heavier at 1.29 kg. The newer MacBook Air 15 is slightly thicker than the 13-inch MacBook Air as well, but it’s barely noticeable.

3) Battery capacity

As far as battery capacity goes, the MacBook Air 15 doesn’t make use of its larger size to pack in a bigger battery compared to just a 52.6 Wh battery — which is the same found on the MacBook Air 13. The bigger battery is better for longer battery life, obviously, so this is a bit of a surprise from the MacBook Air 15’s perspective.

4) Bigger trackpad

Both the MacBook Air 15 and MacBook Air 13 have the same sized keyboard, but the former has a bigger trackpad thanks to its bigger dimensions compared to the latter 13-inch MacBook Air. So, if you want a bigger trackpad, you need to get the MacBook Air 15 instead.

5) More graphics capacity

Both the MacBook Air 15 and MacBook Air 13 differ in terms of graphics capacity as well, with respect to their entry-level base variants. Where the 13-inch MacBook Air only comes with 8-core GPU, the MacBook Air 15 instead offers a 10-core GPU as standard. Better for gaming on the big screen, eh?

6) Charging adapter

If you just consider the entry-level MacBook Air 13 and MacBook Air 15 variants only, then the newer MacBook Air 15 entry-level laptop comes with a 35W USB-C charging adapter in the box compared to just a 30W USB-C charging adapter bundled with the MacBook Air 13.

7) Price

Of course, as we previously mentioned the MacBook Air 15 starts at Rs.20,000 more than the MacBook Air 13 in India.
